Art Galleries

In the last five years, art galleries have sprung up in Beijing like mushrooms after rain. There are several main art districts: 798-Dashanzi Art District, Caochangdi, Liquor Factory, and Songzhuang Artists Village. Below is an alphabetical directory of the most renown galleries.

UCCA (Ullens Center for Contemporary Art)
Introduction: Founded through the Guy and Myriam Ullens Foundation in Switzerland and established in November 2007, the Ullens Center aims to be a non-profit-making catalyst on the Chinese art scene. It has already established itself as one of the most influential institutions in the Beijing scene with some exhilarating and high-impact shows.

Creation Art Gallery - 可创铭佳艺苑
Introduction: Tourist-friendly exhibitions of oils, acrylics and traditional materials; a good place to find something nice for your home that doesn't yell "contemporary Chinese art" in an offensive way.

F2 Gallery
Introduction: A foreign-owned gallery representing a handful of Chinese contemporary artists, as well as occasional shows of overseas artists such as Julian Schnabel and Keith Haring.

National Art Museum of China - 中国美术馆
Introduction: Hosts traveling exhibits and well-curated shows from its own collection. A must-visit for anyone interested in 20th century socialist and traditional art, and has recently put on some stunning contemporary exhibitions.

Introduction: The French owners of these two spaces in 798 show a consistently interesting program of international and local art photographers.

Visiting them especially during the tours is a lot of fun and at the same time knowing what we can possibly do with all this makes complete sense and it helps us grow in a manner which provides us a lot of impacting and brings help for sure.
As a traveler its a lot of fun getting into things like which is the best part for me.
